America's interest in law has skyrocketed with the unlikely confluence of television police dramas, a declining economy, a national election and a steady barrage of law-related news.
The thirst to know more about the legal system has never been greater: major news web sites lead with analysis of the most recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions, talk radio considers recent decisions a staple, NPR has a legal correspondent, professional athletes and celebrities supply a steady stream of law-related issues to the public -- the list isn't endless, but it's impressive.
And the underlying statistics are staggering:
1.1 million cases were filed in federal courts during 2007
16.6 million civil cases were filed in state courts during 2005
20.8 million criminal cases were filed in state courts during 2005
More or less, that's 38.5 million cases filed PER YEAR in federal and state courts.
With an estimated U.S. population of 303 million, that's around 1 case filed for
every 8 people in the country. Call it 12%. Call it huge.
Who's interested in the law? Just about everybody. Who can use the information
available on FindACase? Same people: just about everyone.
If there is one thing we can attribute to the web, it is a sense of self-reliance for
people in search of information critical to their lives. "Web surfing" is no
longer a short-hand to describe someone wasting time -- it now describes someone searching
for information they need.
From an advertising standpoint, we created a web site for each state to ensure advertisers
could reach a local audience that is searching for critical information. This means local
advertisers can reach local users without paying national prices.
But it also means a national advertiser can pick and choose which states to be in without
penalty for not taking the entire nation. You don't have to bet the ranch anymore,
now you can pick and choose where your message goes.
As to user demographics we will infer much from the zip code. But in conjunction with
the zip, we recognize that our content itself is a sorting device of sorts, i.e.,
people aren't here looking for movie reviews or dating advice. They're here
trying to corral information that will help them solve a problem in their lives.
If you have a product that can help them solve another problem, this would be the place to tell them about it.
They're already looking for answers.
FindACase offers two basic rate structures:
a) Flat rates (think banner ads); and
b) Pay view (think CPM rate)
You may purchase either a Run of Network – across the entirety of FindACase Network's 52 sites – or go more local, and advertise only on a specific state site.
All advertising is collected in advance of the intended run and banked against the advertising package purchased. We'd like to bill you in arrears, but our experience has been that people tend to forget to pay after the ad runs.
Ad rates are subject to change without notice, though advertising contracts freeze rates for the duration of the contract.
Standardized ad sizes for FindACase are:
Leaderboard: 728 pixels x 90 pixels (10.1" x 1.25")
This is a horizontal ad at the top of the page.
Skyscraper: 160 x 600 (2.2" x 8.3")
This is a vertical ad on the left or right shoulder (margins)
of the page.
Tile: 125 x 125 (1.7" x 1.7")
This is a square ad which can be placed in a variety of
locations on a page.
FindACase does NOT create ads; nor do we accept ads which are outside the above parameters.
All ads must conform to a reasonable set ethics, common sense, and applicability to our audience; if you're wondering whether your ad meets those criteria, it probably doesn't and we'll bounce it. FindACase alone will be the arbiter of these standards.
FindACase accepts ads for the entire network or for individual states. See Rates for pricing.
